With some apprehension (based on some recent reviews), i purchased this for my 10 year old daughter. It works beautifully. It is easy to use and has excellent sound quality. It can't charge her 5th generation ipod, but that isn't the reason we bought it and so we are very satisfied with it.

My daughter was turning eight and she wanted more than anything a cute pink docking station to charge her Nano as well as play music. I read mixed reviews on this product, but decided to go with it anyway. The docking station has several different adapters to fit most any Nano, shuffle, or Ipod (but I would still recommend checking the specs before buying to make sure it will fit the one you have). The nano fits in well and the sound quality is great for such little speakers. It is easy to work so I don't have to always run over to help her when she wants to listen to music. It also has a clock and a radio which are an added bonus. She really likes that you can put in batteries and carry it outside to dance and play with her friends. Of course the very best part is that it is pink and what girl doesn't love pink?! For the price, I couldn't expect more. We've only had the item for two months so the durability verdict is still out. I would like to give it a few months before I make any speculations on that factor.

This is a great tag-along for the iPOD. I listen to mine every night. The only thing is that it doesn't charge the iPOD while it is in the boombox but aside from that it is definitely worth the investment.

I ordered this for my 4 yo kid to listen to music in her room. It sounds fine. I am a bit befuddled but three parts that were packaged separately. They are flat and have two integrated hooks on one side and two narrow rubber strips on teh back. Any ideas? Also, I specifically wanted a player that was compatable with a shuffle (bc I dont want to share my nano with my daughter). There is supposed to me a cord to connect the shuffle, but no cord came with this unit. I guess I will have to give her my nanao and upgrade myself instead of dealing with customer support!

This product is as bad as they come. We purchased two of these units for our iPods and in less than 30 seconds, both units fried (literally) both of our iPods. To make matters worse, the customer service at iLive was horrendous. You couldn't find people more rude, obnoxious, and couldn't care less about user-experience with their products. Thankfully, the people at amazon.com were gracious enough to allow us to return this abysmal product.
