Prefer my my Sanza Fuze and Ipods Jul 28, 2010 This was the first mp3 player I ever bought, and I honestly wish I'd never gotten one. The package I purchased did not include any software, you had to download it (which would have been fine, but I run OTR trucks, and comcast just can't keep up). When I contacted Micro$oft regarding getting the software, they sent me a cd that had nothing more than the drivers. After sitting on this thing for a few months, I was able to use a friends wifi to download the software. The software immediately modified and changed many of the tags and info I had on my music collection. I have never cared for this player simply because the software created far too many headaches for me. As for the player itself, it is very sturdy, and can take a pretty good beating. I had it on my dash in a head on semi-semi accident, and was told that was still playing when the paramedics arrived. If you don't have a large music collection, and you have a constant internet connection, then this may be a very nicce player, but it just wasn't right for me. I was able to find a much less expensive player, the Sanza Fuze, that I absolutely love. It does not require any special software like the Zune and Ipods do.
Not bad! Jul 12, 2010 There's been problems with loading the screen menu on the zune. I'm not sure if it's suppose to do that if I have screen lock enable.. but one I took it off, it still does it.. so I'm a bit iffy on that.
Not impressed with the software. Jul 09, 2010 I am not impressed with the Zune software. When I first purchased a Zune, it worked fine and so did the software. Software soon stopped working on my brothers computer and Zune tech support wanted me to basically start over on my computer. I switched to using a different computer and it worked fine for months but now has an intermittent problem where it will sometimes play and download files and sometimes just not. Sucks. I find myself pretty frustrated.
had it for a while, but... Jul 06, 2010 Ok, I've had my Zune for over a year. It's pretty good,I mean it has a 120Gb's.
Nice screen, video quality is pretty good,so is the sound.Easy to use, and has FM radio.
Plus some other features like games, and sync wireless from your computer.
But, the battery life isn't that great. After a while mine had a mind of it's own.
supposedly it charges in 2hrs. well, mine sometimes will last 6-2hrs. it use to a full 10hrs. or more.
the sync time is pretty slow. You need to use the software, which it's not that bad.
screen does smudge, so I recommend a screen protector to prevent scratches as well.
I really can't say I recommend the zune, or not.
Cuz it's pretty ok just a couple of flaws.

Refurbished unit works for now, but not sure how long it will last Jun 26, 2010 My refurbished 120 GB 2nd generation Zune arrived yesterday, and honestly, I'm not sure how long it will last. The small crack between the faceplate and back of the case seems to be wider than it should. I don't know if the refurbishing process required the player to be disassembled, but it looks like at some point the Zune has been opened up. The screen looks great, no scratches or smudges, and the buttons are all working perfectly, including the new touch sensitive zune pad. There were a few minor scratches and dings around the sides and corners of the player (doesn't really bother me), but the big source of worry for me is that there is a dent in the back casing, almost like it was whacked with something or dropped. However, as long as the interior parts are either new or were not damaged by whatever caused the dent, I'm not too worried.
The fact is, there is damage to the player that Indy did not mention, and I don't know what specifically was included in the refurbishing process. Was the screen replaced? (It looks brand new) Was the hard drive replaced because the old one was damaged from a fall that dented the back cover? Did it break apart from abuse or was it taken apart? Will it fall apart again? Is an interior part damaged and ready to fail? I just don't know.
All that aside, I'm really excited to have a new Zune. I own the 1st generation 30 GB model, which has stood up well to aging (I've had it for about 3 years now). I'd like to say that I took good care of it, but freshman year of college I dropped it 6 feet from my bunk to the tile floor...twice...but it still works! Hardly a scratch at all. My music collection, however, has grown significantly, meaning that my old Zune just couldn't hold it all. My decision to buy another Zune wasn't because I didn't like the original, or for any other reason than that it just didn't have the storage capacity I need anymore. I toyed around with the idea of buying a Zune HD, but I would need to buy the Zune HD 64 that's coming out to fit all my music, and honestly, $350 is way too much to spend on an mp3 player. I'd love to get an HD, but I'll have to wait until they're price is more in tune to my budget.
In the end, the Zune is working great, it synced with my computer easily, I loaded all my music with about half the space on the zune still available, and it works with all the accessories I had for my 30 GB model.
