Overcharges Jul 20, 2009 I bought this item because it came as a set of three. I forgot my ipod plugged in overnight in the car. It got so hot including the ipod killed the battery completely, I have been afraid to use the home charger.
You get what you pay for only cost me $2.98.
I would advise if you use it unplug it when its charged if you have no other choice. You will have to send it to apple, not worth it.

Not worth the purchase price Jun 01, 2009 Maybe I got a dud, but this charger has an odd habit of cycling between charging and not charging my iPhone, with no consistency. It will show the charging icon for about 2 minutes, then switch back to the regular icon like it's not plugged in. At first I thought it might be the car, but I have tested it in a VW Jetta, Mazda 3, Honda Fit, and Toyota Prius. The best case I had was in the Jetta, where it did not do the on/off cycling, but after driving for an hour and a half, my battery was almost totally run down even though it was plugged in the entire time.
Because it does not constantly charge, my battery will never actually die while plugged in, but after a long drive I'll have a 20-25% charge. I suspect this kind of on/off charging is not doing wonders for the health of my battery. I guess you get what you pay for - lesson learned! I just placed an order for a name-brand charger that listed on the Apple store website.
